John Wayne's Favorite Casserole
John Wayne'S Favorite Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. monterey jack cheese, shredded, 1 lb. cheddar cheese, shredded, 4 egg whites, 4 egg yolks and 1 can green chilies, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Combine cheeses, chilies and onions.
Pour into a greased shallow 2-quart casserole.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Combine egg yolks, milk, flour, salt and pepper.
Fold in egg whites. Pour mixture over cheese, gently moving it to the bottom mixture. Bake 30 minutes at 325Β°.
Remove from oven, put sliced tomatoes on top and bake an additional 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serves 8.
