Julekake(Christmas Bread)
Julekake(Christmas Bread) is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 pkg. yeast, 1/2 c. warm (100~) water, 1 c. scalded milk, 1/4 c. butter or margarine and 1 beaten egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Dissolve yeast in water.
Mix milk and butter in bowl. When lukewarm, yeast, sugar, salt, cardamon and fruit. Add 2 cups flour and mix well.
Gradually add remaining flour, saving for kneading.
Knead on floured board until smooth. Place in greased bowl.
Cover; let rise until double in bulk. Punch and divide in half.
Form into 2 round loaves and place on greased pan. Cover; let rise until double.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
Ice with powdered sugar while warm.
