Macaroni And Cheese is an moderately easy family-friendly dish. Made with 2 c. macaroni, 4 celery stalks, diced, 1 diced green pepper, 1 diced onion and 1 can water chestnuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cook macaroni until about done; drain.
Saute celery, green pepper and onion in 1 stick butter until soft and clear.
Add water chestnuts, mushrooms, milk and cheese, stirring well until melted (low heat or cheese will stick).
Mix with macaroni.
Saute bread in 1/2 stick butter and add on top.
Bake about 1 1/2 hours.
Start at 400°.
Turn down to 350°.
Makes a big 2 quarts.
