Mama's Homemade Custard Ice Cream
Mama'S Homemade Custard Ice Cream is an easy dinner. Made with 2 qt. whole milk, 1 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. vanilla, 8 small eggs and 3 tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat eggs until light colored.
Sift sugar with flour.
Gradually add eggs.
Add egg mixture to hot milk while stirring constantly.
When spoon is coated and mixture slightly thickened, remove from heat.
Add vanilla.
To make larger and richer, add 1 large can Pet milk with a little more sugar.
This mixture will burn or boil over easily if vessel is not large enough.
Medium heat.
Pour custard in ice cream freezer and let the men turn the freezer handle.
