Southern Fried Chicken
Southern Fried Chicken is an easy dinner. Made with 1 (2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut, washed and well dried, salt, pepper, 1/2 c. flour and 1 c. fat, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Place salt, pepper and flour in a paper bag. Shake well. Place 2 or 3 pieces of chicken in bag at one time and shake until each piece is evenly coated.
Drop into hot fat and cook 15 to 20 minutes on each side. Avoid piercing meat to escape juices popping hot fat.
Remove well cooked and golden brown chicken from fire. Serve when cool.
