French Fruit Au Gratin
French Fruit Au Gratin is an impressive French dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 26 minutes. Made with c. whole raspberries, c. halved strawberries, c. large chunks apple, c. peaches and c. pears, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix fruits and cognac and let marinate for 2 hours at room temperature.
Pour mixture into 2-quart shallow baking dish.
In saucepan, mix egg yolks, sugar and cream and stir over low heat until thickened.
Do not boil.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture evenly over undrained marinated fruit.
Place under preheated broiler and broil 8 to 10 minutes or until fluffy and golden brown. Serve warm.
