Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. light corn syrup, 2 eggs, slightly beaten and 2 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in double boiler top. Blend in milk, corn syrup and eggs. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Chill. Stir in light cream and vanilla. Freeze in 3-quart ice cream freezer.
Makes about 2 quarts.
