Hot Pepper Steamed Mussels
Hot Pepper Steamed Mussels is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 lb. fresh mussels, 3 tbsp. oil, 2 large onions, finely chopped, 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped and 3 tsp. finely chopped fresh ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Scrub mussels and beard them. Heat oil in large, deep pan. Fry onions, garlic and ginger slowly until onions are golden.
Add chilies, turmeric and coriander.
Stir carefully for a few minutes.
Add salt and water and simmer covered for 5 minutes. Add mussels, cover and steam until mussels open.
Remove from heat and add fresh coriander.
Add lemon juice and salt to taste. Spoon liquid mixture into mussel shells and serve.
