Sugar-Jam Sandwich Cookies
Sugar-Jam Sandwich Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. flour, 1 lb. butter, room temperature, 4 eggs, separated, 1 c. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Preheat oven at 350Β°.
Separate egg yolks and whites.
Whisk yolks, sugar, butter and vanilla.
Stir in flour, one cup at a time.
Roll out cookie dough and cut round cookies with whiskey glass or something that size.
Take half of the cookies and cut the centers out with something the size of a thimble.
Bake them on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 9 minutes.
While cookies are still hot, spread bottom of sandwich cookie with jam of your choice.
Put "ring" cookie, with center cut out, on top of jam. Brush top with egg whites that have been beaten with a fork.
Then sprinkle chopped walnuts on top.
Allow them to cool and enjoy.
