German Potato Salad
This German Potato Salad adds finely chopped cabbage to boiled potatoes and covers both with a hot sweet-sour onion dressing. Butter or bacon drippings, vinegar, sugar, and onion make a quick skillet sauce served immediately.
Peel and boil the chopped potatoes until tender.
Heat the butter or bacon drippings with the vinegar, sugar, and sliced onion in a skillet until very hot.
Place the chopped cabbage and hot chopped potatoes in a bowl.
Pour the hot dressing over the vegetables and mix well.
Return everything to the stove just until hot throughout, then serve at once.
