Austrian Rolls
Austrian Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. mashed potatoes, 1 c. milk, 2/3 c. shortening, 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Scald milk and dissolve shortening in it.
Strain mashed potatoes through sieve into milk; let cool.
Beat egg in large bowl; add sugar, salt and milk mixture.
Then add dry yeast, which has been dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water.
Add 1 cup flour at a time, mixing well.
Rub top of bread and sides of bowl with shortening and let rise in warm place until double in size (about an hour).
Punch down and shape half of dough into 36 small balls. Put 3 balls into each cup of 12-cup muffin tin.
Let rise again for about an hour, then bake in 375Β° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
