Pork Chops, Apples, and Sauerkraut
Pork chops, apples, and sauerkraut slow-cook with onion rings, apple juice, caraway, and red apple slices for a sweet-tart German-style dinner with potatoes or rye bread.
Brown pork chops in a little oil, or skip browning for a faster slow-cooker version.
Layer half the onion, garlic flakes, sauerkraut, apple juice, caraway, salt, and pepper in a slow cooker.
Add the pork chops, then cover with remaining onion and kraut mixture.
Top with red apple slices.
Cover and cook until the chops are tender and the apples soften into the kraut.
Serve with the sweet-tart juices spooned over each chop.
