Aunt Dorothy's Scrumptious Carmelcorn
Aunt Dorothy'S Scrumptious Carmelcorn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. light brown sugar, 1/2 c. corn syrup, 1/2 lb. butter or margarine, 6 qts. popped popcorn and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

In 2 1/2 quart saucepan; combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, cream of tartar and salt.
Heat to boiling point.
Stirring constantly, boil to hard ball stage.
(Note
I don't ever boil to hard ball stage, but just until it forms a good soft ball in water).
Remove from heat, stir in baking soda; quickly and thoroughly pour at once over popcorn in large pan.
(I use canning kettle).
Stir until all is coated.
Bake in preheated oven (200Β°) for 1 hour; stirring every 15 minutes during the baking.
Turn out at once on waxed paper, spread apart and allow to cool completely. Break apart and store in tight container.
Makes 6 quarts.
