Venison (Or Beef) Steak and Gravy
Venison (Or Beef) Steak And Gravy is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. flour, 1/2 c. lard, 2 c. water (more or less), salt and pepper and 1 lb. venison steak, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Trim fat.
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.
Dredge in flour.
Fry at medium heat until brown.
Remove steak and leave about 5 tablespoons fat in pan.
Add 3 tablespoons remaining flour and brown.
Add water and bring to a boil.
Cut heat down and put steak back into gravy; cover and simmer until tender.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
