Chapati(Indian Wheat Bread)
Chapati(Indian Wheat Bread) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 3/4 c. warm water (about 105~), 1 1/2 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand 5 minutes.
Place flours and salt in food processor bowl.
Turn on machine and slowly add yeast-water mixture.
Keep machine on until dough ball forms.
Place ball in greased bowl.
Cover with towel and let rise 1 hour in warm place.
Punch dough down and turn out on lightly floured surface.
Roll dough into a log about 1 1/2-inches thick. Cut into 12 pieces vertically.
Roll each piece into 6-inch circle.
In heavy skillet over high heat, cook one Chapati at a time, 1 to 2 minutes, until bubbles form.
With tongs, turn to other side, 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
